Cheap Payday Loans to Improve Your Savings – NOT
You know what’s more annoying than credit card companies wanting to get articles about them published on a saving tips blog? Getting emails from loans and FOREX companies wanting to write guest post on your blog like it’s some sort of cheap link farm.
Since I opened my blog for guest post, I’ve been getting a lot of emails from hotels, car loans and all sorts of loan companies like I would advocate borrowing money to save! These people can be really incredulous.
So the other night, my Gmail immediately marked an email as spam but I read it anyway. Below is the copy of the email.
Hi,
I’m Michelle (it’s not her real name anyway but just a persona) from [Some-Loan-Company] (replaced as I don’t wanna link to them). We have a suggestion which we hope will be useful for your web site.
We may be able to offer you some free of charge content for your web site, in return for a link back to our site.
We have a dedicated team of professional writers. We can have them (at our expense) research and write some content specifically for you to publish on your web site (http://ijustdid.org).
You have complete control over the subject and focus for each piece; the content will be unique to your web site and there are definitely no costs or other commitments for you. All we would ask is that for each piece of content you agree with us, you allow us to include one simple text link to my site within the content.
If you approve the content on your site, will provide social media promotion and drive traffic to the article (building your traffic and social signals).
Please let me know if this would potentially work for you and we can come back to you with further details.
Thanks and kind regards
Michelle

First, they wanted to guest post on my Social Media and Social Change blog which has way higher page rank and has long been established. It doesn’t have any personal finance article yet they wanted to write for it anyway. I guess a link juice is still a link juice no matter what.
I responded and referred them to guest post on this blog instead since it’s a personal finance blog. Michelle’s response struck me.
Thanks for your reply.I can write for your other blog saving sexy.info.
The title for article is “Cheap payday loans to improve your savings” (Editor’s note: Emphasis added)
If you have any suggestions regarding title you are most welcome. If you confirm the title I will get back to you soon with an article.
Seriously, Michelle? You want to encourage my readers to save money by having loans? It’s like solving a problem with another problem, eh?
I know some people who resort to 5/6 or those loans by Indians who loan you money where for example, you borrow p5000 and have to pay back P6000 after a month, usually as 200 pesos each day. People do it because they want to be pay their other loans and this Michelle really thinks that cheap loans could help people save money?!
No way.
The last time I wrote about a credit card is because it has travel perks and if used wisely and with moderation, credit cards can be helpful.
If you want to contribute tips and guest post on this blog, feel free to shoot me an email: jonharules [at] gmail [dot] com. Make sure you don’t encourage loans to save money or cheap car loans whatsoever. Give us some practical tips!
